Great War Glossary: E is for Ersatz

Here it is November again. I haven’t been blogging because I’ve been busy rewiting my first and second novels, To Capture the Sky (formerly¬† McShannon’s Chance) and Where The Heart Is (formerly McShannon’s Heart). I’m about to ship Where The Heart Is off to Tirgearr Press. Stay tuned for updates.

Now, with Remembrance Day approaching, it seems fitting to resume my Great War Glossary:

E is for Ersatz: Ersatz is a German noun, roughly equivalent to ‘substitute’. It was picked up by the Allies and converted to an adjective to describe anything judged a poor imitation of the real thing.
